Staff Development and Training
Agency business is people business, so needless to say, our employees are one our most valuable assets. The group chairman, Mr. Freddie Wong has had a strong conviction in life-long learning and he has kept pouring massive resources in staff development and training. As early as in 1979, Midland established the Training and Development Department, responsible for organizing professional training to its in-house staff. In 1999, in an effort to strengthen its function, the department was transformed to "Midland U", dedicated itself to provide professional training such as CPD courses, multi-media online learning platform, certificate program under the cover of the Continuous Fund, Diploma in Real Estate Agency Management, professional book publishing and management game set, etc. Moreover the MidlandU has received a certificate of ISO09001:2000 the Best Practice Award 2006 - Simplicity. In addition, the MidlandU upholds the highest passing rate in the qualifying examinations of the real estates agents.
To lift up the morale of the group elites, Ms. Angela Wong handpicked a group of senior sales management to join the "Leadership Summit - Fighting Spirit reaches Sky High" , a management training and development program convened in Macau.
"We are Midlanders", this is one of the most valuable and intangible properties of our corporate culture. The strong sense of belonging stems from the management mottos that 1) Performance leads to promotion II) Internal promotion is preferred to external appointment. Indeed, most of the sales management staff has served the group for a lengthy period; for instance, about three quarters of the sales directors of Midland Realty have been working for the company over ten years*. More importantly, the participative style leadership adopted by the management has further cemented the bonding among all level of staff.
